If you have been in the hobby any length of time, you know exactly what radio "Pirates" are!
They are usually illegal stations found in most all areas of the spectrum. They can frequent Shortwave, Mediumwave(AM) or even be found on FM, in high quality stereo!

Pirate stations are not always just music juke boxes. Many engage in political programming, and are more "clandestine" in nature! Many third world countries have quite a few of these!
