I started in the early 60s with the Zeneth Trans-Oceananic which I still have.

My main gear for Shortwave monitoring gear, is the Yaesu FT-8800 and also the 

Icom 756(Original) and the older Kenwood TS-430S.

The antennas consist of a VHF beams, groundplanes, and longwire.
